Delete autorun.inf : virus cleaning

How to Delete autorun.inf virus or open with virus?
Autorun.inf is most common type of virus found in most of the systems. and often not detected by antivirus programs.
not every autorun.inf file is a virus. This file is commanly used in the CD’s for autoplaying the content of the CD.

How do i know if its there in my system or not?
autorun.inf virus resides in your drive (like C: D: E:) and if u try to open the drive by double clicking on it “open with” window pops up.
To check:
1.  Open command prompt
2. Go to one  of ur drive root by typing “d:”
3. Type the ” dir /ah”. This will lists the all directories which are hidden .
4. If there is a file with autorun.inf name. Then ur infected.
How to delete it?
it cannot be deleted normally.Because this file is readonly and it comes back if u delete it.
There are 2 methods for deleting autorun.inf :( 1. using bath file  2. using a application program)
If ur a newbie skip to 2nd method in the end.
1. This method deletes the virus by using some commands and store them in a batch file.
Start ur computer in safe mode(press F5 key while booting).
after entering the window open notepad
and type the following commands.
#############################
d:
attrib -h -r -s autorun.inf
del autorun.inf
e:
attrib -h -r -s autorun.inf
del autorun.inf
c:
attrib -h -r -s autorun.inf
del autorun.inf
exit
#############################
attrib -h -r -s changes the attributes of the virus like hidden, readonly.
Note : your windows drive(mostly c drive) must be at the last position. and list all the drives u have otherwise the virus will spread again.
Save ur file anywhere named “autorundelete.bat” (including quotes) while saving use all files in the combo box below name of the file.
And double click the file.
NOTE: if u cannot understand the batch file method just type the commands in the command prompt and the virus will be deleted.
